This session is focused on looking at habits as being something we all have, but which can either be helpful or unhelpful. Participants will be challenged to consider how some of their habits might not be noticed, but that by paying attention we can begin to change what might seem at first to be automatic responses and behaviours. In the first exploration exercise the participant is asked to take an audit of the habits they possess in their thoughts, words and actions. Exercise 2: With the patterns identified, in the second exercise, the participant is encouraged to consider which of these habits they would like to change, and which new habits they might want to develop. Our tools and resources for this session include: Understanding the behaviour chain. A tool to help participants understand how their identified habits operate, and hence, how to change them. Our second tool is: Designing healthy habits. How we can use techniques from positive psychology to help us create and reinforce the habits we would like to possess.
