Working with people is always a balance, and there are certainly times when we might need to bounce ideas and suggestions (although not advice), and perhaps even offer to do something with someone to support them in their actions. However, as an Assistant Life Mechanic your role is not to be fixer, but to support people to address issues for themselves. In our training we will consider two key tools you have for doing this: First, learning to actively listen and respond with a coaching informed approach. Second, being able to sign post to or use the The Life Garage materials as a tool box and resource for the person. We will consider these options in the next module.
